Another Monday, another week with so much to look forward to!This week my husband and I are heading to sunny California! Hip hip hooray! A road trip. We leave on Wednesday morning, and hope to be there by Friday...stay tuned!!
We are really celebrating on this trip, Valentine's day, his birthday and our 20th anniversary... so I have finished the final card for the trip...and like any other craft a holic, have packed my card kit to take with me so I won't be in withdrawal for 10 days LOL! Hopefully I will even find some brand new products when I get to the USA. It is such an exciting adventure... on to the new card..
I made this card for our 20th anniversary, and is very love inspired so I think it is appropriate for all those love challenges this week. I used my Don Juan cartridge to cut out the two cute hearts. I used stamps from Stampology and Inkadinkado which were purchased from Walmart. All the papers were purchased from a dollar store. I love the colors, I think they look so rich and elegant together. I found the deep red and orange intertwined hearts to be perfect for the look of love I wanted to create. I inked around the edges in red to make the pieces pop, and added little red dots on the white piece.
I pride myself on finding supplies that are inexpensive yet can still be made into beautiful works of art. I just love crafting, it is my greatest source of therapy!
I am so happy that you stopped by today! I would really appreciate it if you would leave me a comment, and consider joining my blog. I am so encouraged by all the words that have been left for me...I read this today...Blogging is the gift that keeps on giving! How true!
The following are the challenges I am entering my card into. Why not stop on over and give a shout out to all the designers who's commitment keeps us going week by week.

I like those inter-twined hearts. They look so cute. And bright colours too. The sentiments are very appropriate. I hope you have a great break. So many lovely events to celebrate. Congrats for 20 years together. Great that you are taking your craft kit along. Way to go ;-)
ReplyDeleteGreat card! The hearts are wonderful! I hope you have a fabulous trip with your hubby!! Thanks for sharing at Shopping Our Stash this week.

Lovely card, Cathryn. I just hopped over from Darnell's blog and I am your newest follower. I would love for you to come visit and follow me as well. I have been blogging since Jan. 2013, so still quite new as well! I love it though and I am sure you will too! Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteHello Cathryn, followed the link from Darnell's blog, and just joined as a new follower. Hope that when you have time(after having fun on your trip!) that you will be able to come visit me as well (and maybe like what you see). It's fun building a blog, and you'll do well. You have a great cheerleader sending folks to visit. Loved your card. I'm with you on the colors, so rich looking as a background to your red-orange hearts. Love those colors together. I also get a kick out of it, when a blogger can tell me about their good finds - I'm always on the hunt myself, but not that good a shopper (or maybe it's more I'm as good at thinking outside the box!Whatever...) I'll be back to visit as often as I can, and in the meantime, happy traveling, Happy Valentine's Day, and HAPPY 20th Anniversary. We're coming up on 50 in July! Whoo Hoo! TFS
ReplyDeleteHi Cathryn. can I come with you on your road trip, you can pick me up on your way here in Australia....well I wish lol. Thanks for joining my blog and I have joined yours too. Just looove this card it is super and sweet. Love hearts are gorgeous. Have a safe journey and keep in touch...lv annie
ReplyDeleteHi Cathryn, thanks for your visit. And your sweet comments & support. I don't know about the 'multi-talented' bit, I'm struggling a lot with this new card craft/blogging world. But I do try to be kind (not enough of it in our world today.) I am finding this blogging world of crafters to be most generous, most supportive, giving of their knowledge of things I'm trying to learn. I'm sure you will have the same experience. If I can help in any way, I'd be happy to share. Again, looking forward to a new friend & learning about your part of the world. Safe, happy & fun travels. Hugs
ReplyDeleteFabulous! Thanks for joining us at Lexi's Creations this time & good luck!
