Could it already be Saturday evening? The time seems to go by so quickly these days! Today I went to an all day scrap booking session. I met some wonderful new people, and discovered some amazing new techniques. I feel so fortunate to have been able to spend a whole day away from home, working on my scrap book. Besides making cards, scrap booking is my other favorite crafting obsession.
Today I have a simple card that I made for the 10-minute-craft-dash. This is such a fun challenge, I would encourage you to pop over and meet Paulina at Pretty Pink & Posh . She is a wonderful young woman who encourages quick and fun cards which is such a fun challenge.
I made my card following the sketch I found at freshly made sketches. I used the colors suggested at the prettypinkposh.com .
I used my little dot embossing folder from Darce, and the sentiment stamp I bought at Target. I also added little pink pearls to glam it up!!
For a quick little card I just love how it turned out. I am thankful to Pauline for offering this little quickie challenge. Sometimes I spend so much time wondering if I should use this or that, and this challenge helped me to put out a card in 8 minutes, 37 seconds. Wahoo!!
I am entering this card in her challenge and also in the following challenges:

Thoughtful Thursday
Welcome to Thoughtful Thursday, a day to share cards of encouragement, thanks, get well or thinking of you. I had not heard of this day until I read about it over at scrapendipity. What an awesome idea, we can always take time to reach out to others.
Today a have made a card to offer Thanks to Cassandra who was most helpful in organizing our hotels for our recent trip to California. Because my Hubby works for the Travel Lodge we were able to get the employee discount for the nights we stayed in that hotel, and that sure helps the pocket book when you are traveling such a great distance. More money for shopping!!

I made this card with a deep purple card stock and used the Darce EF
( embossing folder) with the cute small dots on white for the background. The stamp is from the Studio 112 series, and I used a purple colorbox ink to print it. Although simple I like the way this card turned out.

New Tool Tuesday!
Today I am so excited to be sharing my first card using my little Sizzix embossing machine which I purchased in Oregon while on my vacation. It is so fun and simple to use and has made such a fun card, I am simply amazed with it!
I am not usually one to pat myself of the back, yet this card I have designed is so simple to make, yet sophisticated looking that I can't actually believe I made it myself! I came up with the idea when a combination of challenges fell together. The CAS look from the addicted to clean and simple blog site was the basis for this design. I used the Cricut Cuttlebug Embossing Folder called Happy Birthday. Then a simple little Happy Birthday Stamp from Studio 112 on white card stock, matted with black card stock with a touch of silver bling finished off the design. TA DA!
Simple, elegant, yet masculine. I just love the way this card turned out and I hope you will too!
I will be entering this card in the following challenges and please feel free to visit these challenge sites and leave a bit of love with all the wonderful designers who work so tirelessly to give us inspiration on a weekly basis!

Monday, Monday
We have finally made it HOME!! Altogether we drove about 3,000 miles! Vacations are wonderful, but there is nothing like good, old, Home Sweet Home! I thought I would show those of you who don't get to enjoy a Canadian winter, a picture of one of our rest stops on our way through the mountains. It looks like such a fun spot eh?? Thankfully when we arrived home from California there wasn't quite as much snow here!
On to the creative card I would like to share with you today. This card was inspired by a sketch posted on more than favors blogspot . While on vacation, I managed to pick up a number of embellishments, and I just love the ones I used for this card today. All are from Studio 112 designs and can be found at Joanne's Fabrics, or clicking on the Studio 112 logo. I love the spring feel of the card and how it is grounded by the brown earth stripe. The sentiments calls us to "Create", and as an artist, that is one of the things I most enjoy doing. It is the best therapy ever!

Fabulous Friday Again!
Yes, even a day on the road can be FABULOUS! Why you may ask...well I had my last shopping till dropping day! We stopped in Medford Oregon, at Joanne's Fabric's and DBA Craft Warehouse. We had stopped here on our way down to California, and I wanted to stop back on our way back just to pick up my final purchases. I have been stocking up on scrap booking and card making supplies. Oh boy have I had fun! I have found some wonderful supplies on this journey, so much more variety than we have at home. So thank you to all the wonderful places I shopped in, and all the creative designers that created all this wonderful stash. I had so much fun shopping till dropping!
Today I am so excited about sharing my card for Muse. I found my inspiration from both the color and the sentiment of the beautiful card made by Marion Vagg . I made my card while on my wonderful California vacation, and I think the simplicity the colors and the joy of the card show my absolute delight from the week I have been having. I bought these new papers from Joanne's fabrics. One 6x6 pad is called The Fiber Stack, .and the other 6x6 stack is called Hip Hip Hooray Paper Pad. The colors are very rich, and I added teal blue gems from my new stash to glam up the card. The Hello stamp is from Michael's $1.50 bin, and the butterfly is from an embellishment card from Studio 112. I added the inking around the pieces of the card to add both depth, and the look of age and distress, because I love this look. I hope you love this card as much as I do.

Thrilling Thursday
Hello everyone. California you did not let us down! today's drive was spectacular! Sunny with n almost cloudless ski. Along the way I saw oranges hanging from trees, and other beautiful fruit trees in the beginning of the blossoming stages, oh so pretty! Lots of farmland, mountains, cattle, and miles of road. I love you California! Thank you for your warm and welcoming hospitality!!
Today I would like to share a very bright colorful birthday card with you. I made this card with papers from a 180 paper pack from Joanne's fabrics. I am so sorry, I do not remember the name of the pack. I used a sketch from mojomonday . I so appreciate the many blogspot contributers who offer me sketches each week. I gain so much inspiration from a simple sketch. As you can see from the papers, they are all alike, just different colors. I have added a unique simple antique plastic button with raffia, and outlined each colored piece with faux stitching. I choose a cute little Birthday sentiment stamp from an Inkadinkado set of stamps that I found at Walmart. I love both the simplicity, and the color of this card. I hope you will enjoy it too.

Wonderful Wednesday!!
The lovely card I would like to share with you today is made with Design tool Kit #2 and Design tool Kit #3 which can be found at paperwishes. I was loving these beautiful teal papers and how they worked so well together. They are all from Michael's craft store, bought separately. I made the flower from the Design tool kit, and the cute little brad which matches so perfectly comes from Stampin Up. I inked around all the different cuts with a Color box inker. I added the polka dot print to the inside of the card to enhance the shape of the upper part of the card. I added the cute little Birthday Wishes stamp as my sentiment which is from an Inkadinkado set purchased from Walmart.
The following blog sites are the challenges I will be entering this card into. Please feel free to hop on over to any of these sites and give a shout out to all the talented designers who spend so much of their time working to share beautiful inspirations with us.

Sweet Card Saturday!
It is so much fun to be in Southern California, today I was able to do two things I really enjoy doing, one is shopping, and the second is sitting on the beach! Just had to share my chillaxing picture with you!
The card I would like to share today is one that I have made from the sketch from mojomonday.blogspot.ca
I started by cutting out the card using Design Tool Kit #3 from www.paperwishes.com
The cardstock papers are from the dollar store, and the printed papers are from Michaels. I made the flower from the same Design Tool Kit as above, and used a brad from Stampin Up, which just happened to match my green paper. The stamp is from a set from Inkadinkado, which I purchased from Walmart. I ripped the papers to give the card a different effect which I love.

It's Finally Friday!!
Tonight I am posting this blog from Southern California...HAPPY DANCE!!! We are here safe and sound and indeed this is a blessing!
Today when I was driving I had the car window open and I smelled grass, and green, I saw oranges hanging fom trees, and blossoms in full bloom. I saw palm trees, and felt warm sun on my skin. It is summer in the winter! Hooray!
This morning while riding I was inspired to make a card (I don't just sit well!) based on this weeks sketch from retrosketches.blogspot.ca . I started with the polka dot pattern paper which I love, and built the rest around it. We can make love cards with all kinds of colors any time of year!
All the papers are from Michaels and the pearl hearts are from the dollar store. I inked the edges of the paper with colour box chalk ink. The heart was cut from Design Tool Kit #2 from paperwishes.com
I just love working from sketches, and I love how this card came together.

Thankful Thursday!
Today we had the great fortune of driving from Wilsonville Oregon to Corning California. What a beautiful drive with such gorgeous mountain scenery! I feel so thankful to have this opportunity to be visiting my sister country! Everyone I met today was so kind and helpful, just like in blogland. I hope that you might be inspired to share something you are thankful for with someone else today.
For my card I have chosen this simple yet elegant valentine card. I found an interesting challenge at
prettypinkposh.com called the 10 minute dash! Well that seemed pretty impossible but as so many other things have proved me wrong this week, I did it! The rules state you can set out all your supplies, so, with that and an idea in mind I started, and this is what I came up with.
The red cardstock paper is from Micheals, the embossed white paper is from a packet from Walmart, and the pearl hearts are from the dollar store. The design is mine! It took me 9 min and 16 sec. Wahoo! So cute, yet simple, easy and done in a short time. Perfect!

A Wet N Wild Wednesday!
When we left home on our road trip this morning it was sunny and frosty, within 20 minutes we had hit a full blown snow storm!! Yikes!! Luckily we were in and out of that snowy mess by noon, but hit lots of rain throughout the day. So a good vacation day to be driving!
I discovered that YES I can make cards in the car!! Wahoo!! I was able to do some designing and play around with some new design tools I got in the mail yesterday. Fun, fun, fun. And I will post those cards, which aren't quite finished...(no gluing in the car,) later this week.
Today I become an official member of Muse Card Club blog. How EXCITING is that??? This is a very different challenge site, one which has it's members voting on the winner of each challenge. What a unique concept. I love being involved!!
Here is a picture of the inspiration card, created by Therese Calvird
For my card, I have drawn my inspiration from both the color palette of Therese Calvird card, and the fun glass of limeade, which made me think of vacation. And if you have been reading my blog you know I am on a ROAD TRIP to California! YIPEE!
So the theme of my card is a" Have a great time on your vacation" card.
The basic card is made of Michael's card stock and inked with Tim Holtz distressed ink Blue Jean. The palm tree is a little foamie which has been sitting in my craft area forever...and it fit on this card perfectly!! It, and the bling are dollar store finds. The stamp is from a Stampin Up set. The scallops were cut from a 12 x12 bling sheet purchased at the dollar store. It happened to be the right color and added the perfect effect I was wanting.

Tuesday, Cards and Car Packing!
Its been a busy day...getting ready for this ubber exciting vacation, trying to make a couple of cards
(my most favorite part!) and packing (ugh). I was able to catch up with my sweet girlfriends, Debbie, Debra and Gloria...I will miss you girls! And I talked to my dear momma. Besides this computer and my craft kit, everything is ready to go. Tomorrow early morning...ROAD TRIP!!!
Question? Can you make a card in a moving vehicle? I will be in a moving vehicle for 48 hours over the next 10 days, and will be experimenting...stay tuned.
Today's card is one of my absolute favorites that I have made so far. Never having tried a white on white card before I questioned how this would look. Then, seeing the sample at beccysplace and some of the entered cards WOW!!! Gorgeous, elegant, charming, and oh so beautiful. I knew I at least had to try one of these. So here is my white work of art.
I started with a piece of embossed paper for the background, and added a second piece of embossed paper for the cross piece. I used my Don Juan cricut cartridge for the hearts, and my Holiday Cakes cricut cartridge for the lacy scallops.I added the pearls and ribbon embellishments to give some added elegance to this card. I hope you enjoy it. The picture does no justice!

Card Making Fun!
Another Monday, another week with so much to look forward to!This week my husband and I are heading to sunny California! Hip hip hooray! A road trip. We leave on Wednesday morning, and hope to be there by Friday...stay tuned!!
We are really celebrating on this trip, Valentine's day, his birthday and our 20th anniversary... so I have finished the final card for the trip...and like any other craft a holic, have packed my card kit to take with me so I won't be in withdrawal for 10 days LOL! Hopefully I will even find some brand new products when I get to the USA. It is such an exciting adventure... on to the new card..
I made this card for our 20th anniversary, and is very love inspired so I think it is appropriate for all those love challenges this week. I used my Don Juan cartridge to cut out the two cute hearts. I used stamps from Stampology and Inkadinkado which were purchased from Walmart. All the papers were purchased from a dollar store. I love the colors, I think they look so rich and elegant together. I found the deep red and orange intertwined hearts to be perfect for the look of love I wanted to create. I inked around the edges in red to make the pieces pop, and added little red dots on the white piece.
I pride myself on finding supplies that are inexpensive yet can still be made into beautiful works of art. I just love crafting, it is my greatest source of therapy!
I am so happy that you stopped by today! I would really appreciate it if you would leave me a comment, and consider joining my blog. I am so encouraged by all the words that have been left for me...I read this today...Blogging is the gift that keeps on giving! How true!
The following are the challenges I am entering my card into. Why not stop on over and give a shout out to all the designers who's commitment keeps us going week by week.

Second Week Birthday Wahoo!!!
Wow, the two week mark as a blogger!! Who would have ever thought...now those of you who have been at it for a way longer time...hip hip hooray for you!!! This is no little deal! I am proud of myself, and big pats on the back to you too. I want to say a big big thank you to Jessi who has been such a huge help to me in figuring out some of the ins and outs of blogging, someone I didn't know reached out to me because I was making some blog faux paux. Jessi is a gem for sure, and not the kind we put on our cards! When we are new we need all the help we can get so thank you Jessi, and to anyone else who might reach out to someone in need, thank you, thank you , T'HANK YOU!!!
My card today is another version of the Thank You card I made yesterday. My hubby had asked me to make a couple of cards for some friends of his, so I made two cards, then he informed me he needed three cards, so I went to my scraps from the other two cards and came up with this one. I made envelopes for the other two cards with the gray striped paper, and liked the way the contrast looked with the stripes going different ways. The other papers were all just scraps from yesterdays card, and the stamp is from Inkadoodle which I bought at Walmart. The little bow, which is my favorite part is a small piece of raffia. I inked all the papers to give that added accent.
I hope you enjoy this card. I love how it looks so masculine. Sometimes it is hard to get a male looking card. I will have to keep this idea in my back pocket!
Please feel free to join me as a follower and consider joining me by email. I love to read all of your comments, they are so helpful to my continued card making adventure.

Happy Friday!!
Welcome to my blog, I am so happy you found me today! I am on a gigantic learning curve and I am so thankful to everyone who is sending me such encouraging comments and helpful hints along the way. With out the support of those of you in blog world I wouldn't have gotten as far as I have in such a short time. I love that so many of you have joined me in this journey, and look forward to the future with great delight. If you aren't a follower, please consider doing so now, and follow me by email...I would be honored to have you with me on this great adventure.
Today I created 2 thank you cards for friends of my hubby. I like to start with a sketch, then work from there. I used Sketch #75 by Dawn from http://www.papertakeweekly.blogspot.ca/2013/01/sketch-free-for-all-time-again.html as my inspiration. Although my card changed somewhat from the sketch I still want to acknowledge Dawn for the awesome sketch that sparked my creativity this afternoon.
The patterned papers I used were from a 180 page Textured Pad from Joanne's Fabric, and the card stock was from Michael's. The little stamp comes from a set I got at Walmart. The little flower is from a Prima Flower Set. The button is from my button box! This is a very simple card, and yet is very effective. My hubby was quite pleased with it and that made me very happy!! I hope his friends will enjoy it too!
Thank you so much for joining me today. I have absolutely been loving this card making journey. It has been challenging my brain in such new ways and that is such a good thing. Please be sure to swing by the following blogs and give the the members of the design teams some encouragement for their beautiful work and commitment to our card making.

Having a Wonderful Wednesday?
I hope you arrive at my blog having had a wonderful Wednesday! Here in beautiful Kamloops BC we have had a beautiful sunny morning, great for a little walk, and some clean fresh air. Today I had a very early morning, 5:30 am! For anyone who knows me, that is way too early for my creative body, however, since it is only the first early day in a while, I was able to be creative...yipee!
Today I made a pretty purple "Friend" card. The main anchor paper is a beautiful one I found at Michael's. The other papers are all cardstock. I used a metallic pen to ink the white papers because I couldn't find my colorbox ink today. I like the new effects this added to the card. I used my Lacy Label's cricut cartridge to make the "Friend" Label. I just love this cartridge, although it is very fussy and even more so when making smaller labels such as this one. But the end results turn out so pretty!
One of the challenges asked me to use embellishments from my old stash, so the rhinestone swirl is actually only one third of the original swirled pattern. I have had this left over piece for a few years gathering dust, and I love the way it compliments this card. I also embellished my buttons with rhinestones for an added bit of sparkle!
I will be entering my card in the following challenges. Please feel free to visit these blogs, leave a comment with all the fabulous designers, and maybe enter the challenges yourself. What a fun way to share our creative talents!

A " Beautiful" Card
Welcome to my blog and thank you so much for stopping by! I am so thrilled to be a blogger, it is something I never thought I could do!! And yet...here I am!
I would like to encourage you to try something new today. I know how easy it is to stay within our comfort zones, however, I have found it so incredible to step outside my everyday box and jump into this whole new world of blogging and card making. I have realized how much I am challenging my brain to be creative, and that is a good thing! And I am doing it one step at a time.
Today I was inspired to use my Lacy Labels cricut cartridge. This label says "Beautiful". I love how this label turned out and I would recommend this cartridge to anyone who has a cricut machine. There are so many other labels to choose from. My pretty papers are all from Michael's, except for the strip with hearts which I made myself from a stampin up large roller. I used both rhinestones, and buttons to embellish the card. I love the three buttons I used. If you look closely you will notice that one of the buttons has dots on it...it is one of my favorite buttons.
My hubby asked me what would I use this card for??? I think it would be a fun valentine's card, or it could be used as a thinking of you card, or a friendship card . Any other ideas? Please leave them in my comments section. Your comments do mean the world to me.

It's MONDAY! Hooray!
I know that for many people Monday is not their favorite day of the week. Well, I am not sure it is mine either, however, I do love the sketches at MojoMonday's so yippee! Today there is a new sketch . You can go check it out by clicking on their blinky just over on the right.
Today I have made a card for a very special man in my life. He is my dad, and I love him with all my heart. This card will be for his birthday which is in March.
I have used a sketch that was offered last week from http://retrosketches.blogspot.ca/ , another wonderful sketching site. I used some very old bone buttons which I found on ebay several years ago. I tied them with raffia and placed them on some burlap which helps to give a feeling of the antique. The back anchor paper is from Michael's and I also thought it had an antique feeling to it. I choose to use the words "Celebrate This Day" from a stamping set I purchased from Walmart. I inked with an antique brown to add the final touch to this card. All in all I am happy with the way the card turned out.
These are the challenges I will be entering with this card:

Happy Birthday Blog!!!
Today my blog is ONE WEEK OLD! Wow, how can that be possible, LOL!! Thank you to the eight people who have joined me as followers in this great adventure and to all the wonderful people who have left me comments over the last week. You have lifted my spirits and given me a reason to charge ahead in this new journey in the blogging world. So again thanks to everyone who has touched my heart this week...and now we move on to week two!!
Today I made a card that I just love, and it is a LOVE card! Unfortunately, the picture does not depict the deep red in the card, however it is a deep and beautiful red. I made the card with textured paper so it would look elegant, and I embossed the white paper to add that extra bit of texture to make the white part pop. I love the addition of the rose, which was an embellishment given to me as a Christmas gift by one of my dear friends Debra (love you!). I used my Lacy Labels cricut cartridge to cut out the Love Letters, then placed a piece of black paper behind them so the word Love would stand out. I used a sketch from www.casethissketch.blogspot.ca and just love how simple, can be so beautiful all at the same time.
I would like to thank all the ladies of the design teams who work tirelessly to share their designs with me each week so I can be inspired to create. You each deserve a gem in your crown.

A Card For My Hubby!
Today I enjoyed creating a Valentine's card for my hubby. I had a few challenges I was creating for, which was so much fun. I love working towards a goal, and today I felt I succeeded in a simple yet fun way. I just love how this card came together, and can't wait for my hubby to see it. Oh how I love surprises!
I used paper which I purchased at the dollar store. I used the Ultimate Creative Sampler Cartridge to cut out my card, and I used my Stampin Up Score it board Diagonal Plate to add the embossing. This was my first time trying to emboss so there are several imperfections, and they just add that hand made touch to the card. I used my Holiday Cake Cartridge to cut out the words on the front of the card, and the heart came in a package from, hmmm....I don't remember.
I would like to shout out to all the design teams in the challenges I am entering, and say thank you for all your work, artistry, and commitment to those of us who love making cards.
