Crafting Fun!

Today was a day to relax and chill in my craft room. Oh what a gift! The card I made feels very relaxing, the colour choice of teal blues reminds me of spring, water and fresh air.

My two patterned papers are from Michael's, and I used a matching ribbon from stampin up. I used my Holiday Cakes cricut cartridge to cut the circles and rounded flower shape. I  used wire to attach my buttons from Wire Works, which added some extra dimension and fun to the page. I always like to add metallic marker dots somewhere on my page, and you can see these on the white scallops. The metalllic markers are from American Craft, an 18 piece set called Thinking of you, I just love them. I bought them on www.scrapbooksteals.com if you haven't found this site, you should really check it out!!

I just want to make a shout out to all the design team members at these blog sites for their creative and commitment to each of us! Thanks so much!!

A Snowy Day in Kamloops BC

For those of you who don't live in British Columbia, today we had a beautiful snowy day in the mountains.  Some of us however are looking forward to spring.  We may love the snow, and yet we yearn for the spring flowers to poke out of the snow covered ground.  So today I made a very springy card.

This challenge called for a very minimalistic card.

I used water color paper , three stamps from Stampin-Up and water based ink. I then used a small paint brush and water and filled in the flowers, stems and leaves. I outlined the area with a purple marker. I tore the edges of the pages for an added touch, and because I love this look.

A shout out to all the designers at

Oh How I love a Creative Day!

So, today I enjoyed blog hopping and found so many wonderful blogs with amazing card designers! Who knew there were so many creative and inspiring people out there!!! Thank you to all who take the time to post your beautiful work for me and so many others to enjoy!

Today, I took up another challenge and designed a Birthday card for my husband.  I used papers that I had hanging around and a sketch from the Mojo Monday blog as my design.  I had to eyeball the sizes of each piece I cut, and I did use my Holiday Cake cricut cartridge to cut out the circle with scallops, and the side scallop design.I added an extra special button to the circle which doesn't even begin to show it's beauty in the picture. I love to add dots and dashes to my work. I did the writing myself since I have no stamps at this time with writing on them...hmmm one day!!!  It is always a challenge to make a masculine card, but I really like the way this one turned out.

I want to thank all the designers at the following blogs for all their creativity and the time they take to share their cards and comments with me and other card makers, you are angels.

My First Card!!!

Today I am excited to be posting my first card as part of the challenges for 2 different blogs. The first blog is "Cut It Up" . Their challenge asks for a Valentines Card using a die cut.  The second blog is
"Creative Craft Challenges 2". Their challenge is Bling it Up!

As a new card maker I thought it would be fun to start my own blog with these 2 challenges.  I have made this card with materials from around my craft room, and with my cricut create machine.   I used the Lacy Labels cartridge, and the cricut craftroom for my die cuts, and made my own templates for the layering effect on the front of the card. The bling, and embellishments I found at the local dollar stores.
