Thrilling Thursday

Today I am so happy to share a card that I helped my neighbour  make for her lovely little granddaughter Kaili who is soon turning 6. Kaile just loves Hello Kitty. So Debbie and I found these special papers, some embossing supplies, and off to the races we went. This is what we came up with.
For her first card I think Debbie did an awesome job!

Now on to the card I made after she went home.  I made this card using a sketch I found at deconstructingjen:Sketch #95. I was trying for a vintage/distressed look for this card which is one of my favorite looks, as in the past I have done a lot of work as a primitive artist. For me to find challenges looking for a vintage look is just so much fun.

Using papers from the Heritage Book from Joannes Fabrics,  my sewing machine, distressing tool, and an inking pad, this is the card design I came up with this week. Oh I also added a fabric bow which I aged, and an old button.
I love the vintage look and feel of this card, and I hope you will too!
These are the challenges I will be entering my card in :

  1. Hi! Thanks for the kind visit! I see your room is underway, and are using a temp spot. I just finished my space and LOVE it. I had to comment on your hello kitty card, as my nieces are big fans of her. She is extremely popular in Japan am told (sister in law is from there) and so her daughters fell in love with her at a young age. Love your vintage card! Great stamps and papers! Have a great weekend!

  2. I love the contrast between these two cards - it really showcases your ability to create beautiful projects in two contrasting styles - fun and cute and beautifully vintage!

Your vintage card really does show your love of this style with the amazing attention that you have paid to the elements on your card (like the fabulous stitiching!!!)

  4. Hi Cathryn,

Both cards are adorable! I know a cutie patootie that loves Hello Kitty and know she'd be in love with that card. Your card is just amazing!

Thanks for popping over and becoming my latest follower. Yes, I will follow you also! I can't wait to see what you make in the future. Now on to you WOYWW post. And like you, I'm totally jealous of some of the workdesks and craft spaces people show on Wednesday! Some of them are larger than the local papercrafting store!!!
